 ‘Who wrote the lyrics? : ‘UP mein ka ba’ folk singer Neha Singh Rathore served police notice

KANPUR: Uttar Pradesh Police has issued a notice to folk singer Neha Singh Rathore, who became famous by singing many songs like ‘UP Mein Ka Ba…’. In this notice, Neha Rathore has been accused of spreading ‘disharmony and tension’ in the society with her songs.

According to the report, a notice by the Kanpur Police on Tuesday night for allegedly inciting hatred through her song video.

As per the notice, he has been asked seven questions regarding the song ‘UP Mein Ka Ba… Season-2’.

Neha Singh Rathore’s UP Mein Ka Ba was released ahead of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2022, after the success of his Bihar mein Ka ba in 2020. On February 16, the singer released the second part of UP Mein Ka Ba regarding which the notice has been served on her asking whether she wrote the lyrics of the songs.

The police have asked them to reply within three days.

Along with this, it has also been said that if his answer is not found satisfactory, then relevant action will be taken against him under the sections of IPC and CrPC.

Regarding the notice, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said, “a popular singer who questions fearlessly to power through her folk songs neha folk singer. When did he sing that “Ka Ba in UP?” So the BJP government sent a notice to his house through the hands of the police…Is BJP so scared of the voice of a folk singer?”

Neha Singh Rathore has shown giving notice to the police at her house in a video released on her Twitter account.

In this video, “Who is making you do all these?” the singer said to the cops as she received the notice. Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia called the move by the Uttar Pradesh police shameful and said, “Is the BJP so scared of the voice of a folk singer?” Samajwadi chief, former UP chief minister Akhilesh Yadav also reacted to the police notice to Neha Singh Rathore.

The latest song of Neha questions the government over the death of two women in a bulldozer drive in Kanpur Dehat — one of the latest political controversies.

“This song has created enmity and tension in society, and you are legally bound to make your stand clear on the issue. So, you are required to file your reply within three days of receiving the notice,” the UP Police’s notice read.
