PATNA: On the last day of the winter session of the Bihar Legislative Assembly, there was a lot of uproar over the Chhapra spurious liquor incident.
Bihar assembly witnessed uproar over hooch tragedy in the state and compensation to the dependents of the deceased. As soon as the House assembled, opposition members raised slogans against chief minister Nitish Kumar and stormed into the well of the house.

BJP protested strongly in the assembly.
Seeing the increasing uproar, Speaker Awadh Bihari Chaudhary postponed the proceedings of the assembly till 2 o’clock.
When the proceedings of the assembly started at 11 o’clock, the leader of the opposition, Vijay Kumar Sinha, was given a chance to make a statement on the floor of the house.
He demanded a judicial inquiry into the cases of death due to spurious liquor in Chhapra and also talked about compensation for the dead.

During this, the noise and uproar regarding the spurious liquor case continued to increase and Speaker Awadh Bihari Chowdhary had to adjourn the proceedings of the House.
BJP also demanded judicial inquiry into hooch tragedy. Left parties, the coalition partners of Nitish Kumar led grand alliance left parties have also demanded compensation. In Bihar the death toll in hooch tragedy has gone up to 85.
