Recently, the T20 World Cup-winning England cricket team met with British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak. During the meeting, Sunak faced deliveries from star bowlers Sam Curran and Chris Jordan. A video of the encounter shows the Chancellor of the Exchequer facing a few deliveries from the bowlers and displaying decent footwork and technique.
The England cricket team won the 2022 ICC T20 World Cup in November, defeating Pakistan in the final by five wickets. Ben Stokes’ unbeaten fifty led England to victory after Sam Curran’s brilliant bowling performance had restricted Pakistan to a below-par total of 137 runs. This win made England the first team to hold both the 50-over World Cup and the T20 World Cup titles simultaneously.

Meanwhile, England’s fast bowler Jofra Archer has been recovering from elbow and back injuries. White-ball Australian head coach Matthew Mott has said that Archer is “ticking all the boxes” in his recovery but is still not fully back to his best. Archer has not played for England since March 2021, and his return has been delayed due to injuries. However, reports suggest that he will play the entire IPL 2023 season after being bought by Mumbai Indians for Rs eight crore.

Mott has stated that Archer’s workload is being carefully managed, and he played in two of the three ODIs in South Africa. He also repeated the same regimen for Archer during the recent three-match 50-over series against Bangladesh.
In summary, the British Prime Minister taking on the England bowlers and Jofra Archer’s ongoing recovery are among the latest developments in English cricket.
