PM Modi condoles death of Mulayam Singh Yadav, CM Yogi announces state mourning for 3-days

LUCKNOW: Samajwadi Party founder and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav has passed away. He was undergoing treatment for the past several days and was admitted to Medanta Hospital in Gurugram.

The death of Mulayam Singh was informed on the official Twitter handle of Samajwadi Party.

Reactions of political parties and leaders are coming on social media on the death of Mulayam Singh Yadav.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday condoled the death of former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav.

Taking to Twitter, PM Narendra Modi posted a series of pictures with the Samajwadi Party supremo. 

He tweeted, “Mulayam Singh Yadav Ji distinguished himself in UP and national politics. He was a key soldier for democracy during the Emergency. As Defence Minister, he worked for a stronger India. His Parliamentary interventions were insightful and emphasised on furthering national interest,”

He wrote in another tweet, “I had many interactions with Mulayam Singh Yadav Ji when we served as Chief Ministers of our respective states. The close association continued and I always looked forward to hearing his views. His demise pains me. Condolences to his family and lakhs of supporters. Om Shanti,”

President Draupadi Murmu also condoled his death by tweeting and expressed condolences to the family.

He wrote, “The death of Shri Mulayam Singh Yadav is an irreparable loss to the country. The achievements of Mulayam Singh Yadav ji, who came from an ordinary environment, were extraordinary. ‘Dharti Putra’ Mulayam ji was a veteran leader associated with the land. He was respected by people of all parties. My deepest condolences to his family members and supporters.

The Congress party described the death of Mulayam Singh Yadav as an irreparable loss to Indian politics.

Congress tweeted, “The death of Shri Mulayam Singh Yadav, the patron of the Samajwadi Party, former Defense Minister of the country and former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, is an irreparable loss to Indian politics. May God give him a place at his feet and give strength to his family and supporters to bear this loss.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal expressed grief over the demise of Samajwadi Party founder.

Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati also expressed her condolences by tweeting.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announces state mourning for 3-days on Mulayam Singh’s death

Condoling the death of Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced a three-day state mourning in the state.

Chief Minister Yogi tweeted, “Uttar Pradesh government announces three days of state mourning on the death of Mulayam Singh Yadav. His last rites will be performed with full state honours.”

Yogi Adityanath said that in this hour of mourning, he expressed his condolences by talking to his son Akhilesh Yadav over the phone.
