NEW DELHI: Congress leader and media-in-charge Pawan Khera was allegedly stopped from Delhi to Chhattisgarh on Thursday morning. He has been arrested by Assam Police. Party leaders also protested at the airport. The Congress alleges that an attempt was made to detain Khera at the Delhi airport. At the same time, Indigo Airlines has said that instructions were received not to take Pawan Kheda to Raipur.
Khera was earlier deboarded from a Delhi-Raipur flight as he was headed to Chhattisgarh for the AICC plenary session, scheduled to begin tomorrow.
Sharing visuals of Khera being escorted into a bus, Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate said, “He’s being taken into the bus. Randeep Surjewala is going with him. They are being taken by the Assam Police. Isn’t this dictatorship? Is this the reality of your right to freedom to speech?”

Let us tell you that a few days ago, Khera had given a controversial statement regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s father. According to the information, a case was also registered against it in Lucknow. Now this action on Pawan Khera is being linked to this matter.
We are all on the @IndiGo6E flight 6E 204 to Raipur and all of a sudden my colleague @Pawankhera has been asked to deplane

What sort of high handedness is this? Is there any rule of law? On what grounds is this being done and under whose order?
The Congress alleges that the Assam Police had reached the airport with a warrant. Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate says how arbitrary is this? Is there a rule of law? On what basis and on whose orders is this being done?
At the same time, now the news is coming out from the sources that at the behest of the Assam Police, the Delhi Police has stopped Pawan Khera at the airport. Congress leader Jairam Ramesh has called it dictatorship. He says that Pawan Khera was deboarded from the flight to Raipur on behalf of the Delhi Police. Another name of dictatorship is ‘Amitshahi’. The Modi government wants to disrupt our national convention. We are not afraid, will continue to fight for the countrymen.
Modi govt is acting like a bunch of goons by deplaning @Pawankhera ji from the Delhi-Raipur flight and preventing him from joining the AICC Plenary.

Using a flimsy FIR to restrict his movement & silence him is a shameful, unacceptable act. The entire party stands with Pawan ji. pic.twitter.com/mKVeuRGnfR
This matter has also been tweeted from the official Twitter account of the Congress. Congress says that senior Congress leaders were going from Delhi to Raipur by Indigo flight 6E-204. Everyone had boarded the flight, at the same time our leader Pawan Kheda was asked to get off the flight. This is dictatorial attitude. The dictator got the ED raids done before the convention and now he has resorted to such an act.
