BHUBANESWAR: Odisha’s Health and Family Welfare Minister Naba Kishore Das died of bullet injuries on Sunday, Apollo Hospital officials said.
After being shot in Jharsuguda, he was airlifted to Bhubaneswar for treatment.
There was a fatal attack on him today (Sunday) afternoon. This attack happened when he was going to attend a meeting in Jharsuguda. According to officials, an ASI attacked him. The investigation into the attack on Nab Kishore Das has been handed over to the Crime Branch.
After the attack, he was air-lifted and admitted to a private hospital in Bhubaneswar, where a team of several doctors was operating on him, but despite all the efforts, he could not be saved.

According to the report, The injuries were repaired, and steps were taken to improve the pumping of the heart. He was given urgent ICU care. But, despite best of efforts, he could not be revived and succumbed to his injuries, a statement issued by the hospital said.
Chief Minister expressed grief
Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has expressed grief over his demise.
Describing the incident as unfortunate, Chief Minister Patnaik said, “The doctors tried their best but could not save him.”
Chief Minister Patnaik said, “Nab Das was an asset to both the government and the party. He took several important initiatives in the health department for the benefit of the people and made them successful. As a leader, he was instrumental in strengthening the Biju Janata Dal.” Played an important role. His demise is a great loss to the state of Odisha.”
Sarbeswar Bhoi, SDPO of Brajrajnagar in Jharsuguda, told after the incident, “This attack was done by a police ASI. That police officer is being questioned.”
The Odisha government has directed the crime branch to investigate the incident.
