RCP Singh to join BJP, Big blow to Nitish Kumar before ‘Mission 2024’!
Patna: RCP Singh, a former close associate of Union Minister and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, is set to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday (May 11). Singh’s resignation from the Janata Dal United (JDU) was followed by a series of criticisms against Nitish Kumar, and it was widely speculated that he would align with the BJP in the near future. Today, those speculations will become a reality.
Having served as the national president of JDU, RCP Singh was once considered Nitish Kumar’s right-hand man. His decision to join the BJP, which will take place at the party office in New Delhi, marks a significant setback for Nitish Kumar ahead of ‘Mission 2024’. RCP Singh’s actions have already exposed the government and Nitish Kumar, and his association with the BJP is expected to further intensify his opposition to the current regime. The program at the BJP office in Delhi is scheduled for 1:30 pm.
RCP Singh, a former Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer from the Uttar Pradesh cadre, hails from Nalanda. Despite sharing the Kurmi caste identity with Nitish Kumar, their political relationship has transformed into a political rivalry. Observers will be keen to see how RCP Singh operates within the BJP after joining the party.
Ajay Alok’s recent defection to the BJP
On April 28, Dr. Ajay Alok, the former spokesperson of Janata Dal United, joined the BJP. This move also dealt a blow to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. In Delhi, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav welcomed Ajay Alok into the BJP. Prior to joining the BJP, Alok had served as a spokesperson for Janata Dal United for an extended period. He was regarded as one of the leaders close to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and was known for launching scathing attacks on opponents while serving as a spokesperson.
