Nine persons, including three children, suffer burn injuries in “Acid Attack” in Bihar’s Supaul; Two arrested

SUPAUL(PATNA): A family feud has resulted in a horrific acid attack in Bihar’s Supaul district on Wednesday. According to police reports, nine persons, including three children, suffered burn injuries in the incident. The attack was a result of a dispute between two cousins’ families over money.

The Station House Officer (SHO) Rajesh Choudhary has stated that two persons have been identified and arrested in connection with the incident. Further investigations are underway.

According to the Hindustan Times, Dr. Umesh Kumar Mandal, who was treating the injured, stated that seven of the nine injured persons had been referred to a higher medical facility as their injuries were severe.

This incident is not the first of its kind in Bihar. Another acid attack was reported in the Katihar district, where at least eight people, including four children, were injured. In this case, the attacker allegedly threw acid at his sister and brother-in-law in a fit of rage following a quarrel.

Acid attacks are a heinous crime that has become alarmingly common in recent years, causing severe physical and psychological damage to the victims. It is essential to take stringent action against the perpetrators of such crimes to deter others from committing such acts of violence.
