Minor Girl Allegedly Assaulted in Bihar’s Tiyar Village Dies, Family Blocked Road and Demands Justice

Tiyar (Bhojpur): The tragic incident of a 12-year-old girl who was allegedly assaulted in Bihar’s Tiyar village has left the family and the community demanding timely justice. The victim, who was fighting for her life, succumbed to her injuries on Monday in a hospital in Arrah. The enraged family members gheraoed police stations and blocked roads in the Bhojpur region to demand justice for their daughter.

According to DSP Jagdishpuri, strict action will be taken against the accused, and justice will be delivered in the case. The locals also blocked the Bihiya-Bagen Road for about four hours by keeping the body of the victim on the road and demanded adequate compensation for the bereaved family.

The incident occurred on March 5, and an FIR was lodged against three named accused on March 9, four days later. In the FIR, it has been said that the victim, a Class 3 student, had participated in a post-exam picnic at her school. On her way back home, she was allegedly misled by a 17-year-old girl from the same village, locked in a room, and later set on fire allegedly by the three accused. There was also a mark of a rope on the girl’s body. She was admitted to Sadar hospital Ara but was soon referred to PMCH where she died on Saturday, according to Tiyar SHO Aashish Kumar.

The police have assured the family and the community of catching the culprits and providing adequate compensation as per the law. The Shahpur MLA Rahul Tiwari also reached the spot to pacify the irate mob.

The death of the minor girl has once again raised concerns over the safety of women and children in the country, and highlights the need for swift and stringent action against perpetrators of such heinous crimes. The family and the community will continue to demand justice until the accused are brought to book.
