Ranchi: The Jharkhand government has decided to award Class 10 and Class 12 toppers in the state with cash awards. The toppers in the high school or intermediate board exams can belong to CBSE, CISCE, Jharkhand board, announced Education Minister Jagarnath Mahato on Friday.
The government will give a cash award of Rs 3 lakh each to 1st topers. Along with this, Rs 2 lakh will be given to the 2nd and Rs 1 lakh to the 3rd holder, as per report.
Earlier, the government have been also honoured to toppers. All the students who rank in the top three in the Jharkhand Academic Council CBSE and ICSE in the state will be benefited from scheme. It has been approved by the cabinet. Along with this, this scheme will be implemented with the toppers of the year 2022. Earlier, 10th toppers were given one lakh and 50 thousand respectively.
The 10th exams are going to start from March 14 till April 3. while the intermediate examination will continue till April 5. The result of the exam will be released by June 15.
Meanwhile, Education Minister Jagarnath Mahato said that the government has determined to take the students forward. Under the prize money for the toppers has been increased. This will also create an atmosphere of competition.
According to the report, about 8 lakh candidates will appear in this year’s 10th and 12th examination. While 4.50 lakh candidates will appear in the matriculation examination and 3.50 lakh candidates in the intermediate.
