Gruesome daylight murder shocks Delhi: College-going girl brutally killed in Park, boyfriend arrest

New Delhi:- In a shocking and horrifying incident, a 25-year-old college-going girl, identified as Nargis, was brutally murdered in broad daylight at a park near Aurbindo College in Malviya Nagar, South Delhi on Friday afternoon. The victim’s life was tragically cut short when she was attacked with an iron rod to her head, succumbing to her injuries on the spot. The assailant has been identified as 28-year-old Irfan, a resident of Sangam Vihar, who was arrested by the police shortly after the crime was committed.

According to Delhi Police’s Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) South, Chandan Chowdhary, the police received a distress call regarding the discovery of a girl’s lifeless body in the park. When the police team arrived at the scene, they found Nargis lying in a pool of blood with a severe head wound caused by the vicious attack. Immediate medical attention was provided, but sadly, she couldn’t be saved.

Nargis, who had recently graduated from Kamla Nehru College and was pursuing a steno course in the Malviya Nagar area, had gone to the park with a friend at the time of the attack. However, the friend was not found at the spot, raising questions about their whereabouts and involvement. The authorities are currently conducting a thorough investigation to ascertain the friend’s role in the tragic incident.

DCP Chandan Chowdhary revealed that during the course of the investigation, it came to light that the motive behind the gruesome murder was Nargis’s refusal to marry Irfan. The victim’s family had reportedly declined the proposal, leading to Nargis cutting off all communication with the accused, leaving him enraged. In a fit of anger and frustration, Irfan resorted to committing the heinous crime that has sent shockwaves across the country.

The police, upon reaching the crime scene, found an iron rod believed to be the murder weapon near Nargis’s lifeless body. The rod has been sent for forensic examination to gather crucial evidence for the case. Additionally, Nargis’s body has been sent for a postmortem examination to establish the exact cause and manner of her death.

The incident has sparked outrage and grief among citizens of Delhi, who are demanding justice for Nargis and calling for stricter measures to ensure the safety of women in public spaces. Authorities have assured the public that they are committed to bringing the culprit to justice and ensuring that such heinous acts are dealt with severely.

As the investigation unfolds, the nation mourns the loss of a promising young life and stands united in solidarity with Nargis’s family during this devastating time.
