New Delhi: In a significant move, the Central Government has declared the Muslim League Jammu and Kashmir (Masrat Alam faction), known as MLJK (MA), an illegal organization under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).

This decision was announced by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who took to a social media platform to communicate the government’s firm stance against anti-national and separatist activities in the region.

Amit Shah stated, “This organization and its members are engaged in anti-national and separatist activities in Jammu and Kashmir, support terrorist activities, and incite people to establish Islamic rule in Jammu and Kashmir.” The ban on MLJK (MA) reflects the government’s commitment to safeguarding the unity, sovereignty, and integrity of the nation.

Sending a clear message, Shah emphasized, “The message of PM Narendra Modi’s government is loud and clear that anyone working against the unity, sovereignty, and integrity of our nation will not be spared and will have to face the punishment of the law.”

Masrat Alam, the founder of Muslim League Jammu Kashmir (Masrat Alam faction), has been actively involved in separatist movements in Jammu and Kashmir. At 52 years old, Masrat Alam not only serves as the president of this organization but also holds the position of interim president of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (Geelani faction) following the passing of Syed Ali Shah Geelani.

This development underlines the government’s determination to address issues of national security and uphold the rule of law. The ban on MLJK (MA) signifies a concerted effort to curb activities that threaten the peace and stability of the region, reinforcing the commitment to preserving the values of unity and integrity in the face of challenges posed by separatist ideologies.
