Delhi Chief Minister Kejriwal’s Proposal Approved: Kailash Gehlot Gets 8 Key Portfolios Including Finance and Home, Rajkumar Anand to Oversee Education Ministry
NEW DELHI: Kailash Gehlot and Rajkumar Anand have been appointed to take care of the vacant ministries left by the resignations of Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain. Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena approved Delhi Chief Minister Kejriwal’s proposal regarding the portfolio.
Gehlot will be responsible for eight important portfolios, including Finance, Planning, and PWD, while Anand will be responsible for Delhi’s famous education ministry and 10 other portfolios. In addition, there may be a major reshuffle in the Delhi government’s cabinet as the names of Saurabh Bhardwaj and Atishi have also been sent to the lieutenant governor for ministerial posts.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal called a meeting of AAP MLAs and MCD councillors on Wednesday to discuss the party’s strategies in light of recent developments, sources said.
While Sisodia, who was handling 18 of the total 33 departments in the Delhi government, was arrested on Sunday evening by the CBI in the Delhi excise policy case, Jain, currently lodged in Tihar jail, was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in May last year in connection with a money laundering case.
