GOPALGANJ: Tragedy struck the village of Batardeh in Bihar’s Gopalganj district on Wednesday morning when a class 9 student, Pratik Kumar Patel, was brutally stabbed to death while on his way to school. The incident occurred at around 6.30 a.m. and has sent shockwaves throughout the region.
According to reports, the attacker, Ujjwal Kumar, a youth from the same village, had a property dispute with Pratik’s family. He attacked Pratik with a knife, slashing his neck and killing him on the spot. The accused was caught by locals in the area and handed over to the police.
Pratik’s father, Ajay Patel, had also been stabbed to death a few years ago in a similar property dispute. Following his father’s death, Pratik had been living with his maternal uncle in Batardeh village.
The tragic incident has left the villagers in a state of shock and grief. Upon hearing the news of Pratik’s death, the angry villagers blocked the NH 27 and placed his body in the middle of the road as a mark of protest. The police have since intervened and managed to disperse the crowd.
