“Chirag Paswan holds key meeting with Amit Shah”, Seat-sharing talks heat up ahead of 2024 Elections

Patna: A day before the highly anticipated National Democratic Alliance (NDA) meeting, a significant development has unfolded as Chirag Paswan, the President of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), has joined the NDA. This news was revealed by JP Nadda, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief, through a tweet.

In a move that has sparked widespread speculation, Chirag Paswan also had a meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday. Sources suggest that the purpose of the meeting was to discuss and finalize the seat-sharing arrangement in Bihar between Chirag Paswan’s party and the BJP in preparation for the crucial 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Following the meeting, Chirag Paswan took to Twitter to express his thoughts, stating, “Today in New Delhi, there were positive discussions with the country’s Home Minister respected Mr. Amit Shah about the issues of alliance.” This indicates the constructive nature of the conversation and the potential for a strengthened alliance between the parties involved.

The NDA meeting is scheduled to take place on the 18th of July and is expected to be a platform for important discussions and decisions. Apart from Chirag Paswan, the NDA has also extended an invitation to Jitan Ram Manjhi, the former Chief Minister of Bihar and leader of the Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM), to join the alliance. It is noteworthy that Manjhi was previously associated with the Grand Alliance in Bihar, but circumstances have led to a parting of ways between the two entities.

Meanwhile, in a parallel development, Bihar Chief Minister and Janata Dal United (JDU) leader Nitish Kumar, along with Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav, has traveled to Bengaluru to participate in an opposition meeting. This gathering in Bengaluru holds significance as it brings together prominent leaders from various opposition parties, potentially laying the groundwork for future political strategies.

As the political landscape in Bihar continues to witness intriguing twists and turns, the decision of Chirag Paswan to join the NDA adds a new dimension to the upcoming NDA meeting. The seat-sharing discussions and the participation of Jitan Ram Manjhi are anticipated to generate further excitement and speculation surrounding the political dynamics in Bihar. All eyes will be on the NDA meeting, where important decisions will be made that could shape the future of the alliance and have far-reaching implications for the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
