PATNA: The arrest of the father of soldier Jai Kishore, who was killed in the Galvan Valley conflict between India and China, has sparked an inquiry by the Bihar Police. The Vaishali police arrested Mr. Raj Kapoor Singh, accusing him of encroachment and other charges in Village-Kajri Buzurg, Police Station- Jandaha, District- Vaishali.
The Bihar government has taken note of the situation and has ordered an investigation into the matter. “The Director General of Police has taken a serious view of the matter being published in some media channels during the arrest of the martyred soldier’s father in the Galwan Valley incident,” a statement from the Bihar Police said.

The statement added that a special team of the weaker section will investigate the incident and submit its report. If any police officer or personnel is found guilty, disciplinary action will be taken against them.

Earlier, Nand Kishore, the brother of the deceased soldier, revealed that the Bihar Police had asked him to remove the memorial he had built for his brother. Nand Kishore claimed that his father had built the memorial on government land in Jandaha’s Vaishali district to honor his son’s memory.

The police, on the other hand, stated that the monument was built on someone else’s land and was a case of forcible possession. However, Nand Kishore has denied these allegations and expressed his confusion over the arrest of his father. He claims that the DSP had asked them to remove the memorial, and they were threatened with arrest if they didn’t comply.
Soldier Jai Kishore’s death in the Galvan Valley conflict in 2020 had stirred the nation. The Bihar Police’s action against his father has raised concerns and demands for justice across the country.
