Bihar Journalist Vimal Kumar Yadav Murder Case: 4 out of 8 accused arrested, Search Continues

Arrests Made in Connection to Brutal Shooting of Journalist Outside Bihar Home

Patna: In a significant development, Bihar police have taken four individuals into custody in connection with the tragic shooting of a local journalist in the Araria district.

According to the report, Araria SDPO Rampukar Singh said Raniganj police arrested four persons namely Vipin Yadav, Bhavesh Yadav, Ashish Yadav and Umesh Yadav from different places over their alleged involvement in the killing of Yadav.

Authorities have revealed that the investigation is far from over, as the hunt for two more individuals allegedly involved in the crime is still underway. The incident unfolded just yesterday, leaving the community reeling from the loss of a dedicated journalist.

Purnia Inspector General of Police (IGP) Suresh Prasad Chowdhary has addressed the concerning matter of journalist Vimal Kumar Yadav’s murder in Bihar’s Araria district.

In a conversation with the news agency ANI, he conveyed, “We have received certain information. We have taken one or two individuals into custody based on suspicion. Currently, four specialized teams are engaged in conducting targeted operations across various locations. We maintain optimism that our efforts will yield results. I am committed to taking decisive measures.”

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar swiftly responded to the distressing news, describing the incident as “dukhad” or sad. Expressing his deep concern over the heinous act, he immediately issued directives to launch a comprehensive inquiry into the murder. “How can a journalist be killed in such a manner?” he inquired, addressing the media in Patna.

Vimal Kumar Yadav, 35 years old, was a journalist affiliated with a prominent hindi newspaper Dainik Jagran. The horrifying incident took place at his residence in the serene Premnagar village. The sequence of events leading to his untimely demise was recounted by the Bihar Police, who shared that the assailants had arrived at Yadav’s home around 5:30 am. Tragically, as soon as Yadav opened his gates in response to their knock, they opened fire without hesitation.

The unfortunate turn of events resulted in Yadav losing his life on the spot. The local district police chief and the Station House Officer (SHO) of Raniganj police station promptly rushed to the scene upon hearing the news, highlighting the gravity of the incident.
