Rajwinder Singh Bhatti will be the new DGP of Bihar after ends tenure SK Singhal’s tomorrow
Patna: Bihar Government on Sunday appointed 1990-batch IPS Officer Rajwinder Singh Bhatti (RS Bhatti) as officiating chief of the state police in addition to his own duties. Bhatti will replace SK Singhal.
According to the report, Singhal’s term ends on December 19. RS Bhatti’s tenure will be till 30 September 2025. RS Bhatti is a resident of Punjab.
RS Bhatti is currently serving as Additional Director General in the Eastern Command of the Border Security Force on central deputation. Bhatti was also famous for his work in the capital Patna in the initial period.
Rajwinder Singh Bhatti’s image is that of a strict officer. In September 2005, Rajwinder Singh Bhatti became the SP of Siwan. Bhatti Barh’s ASP has also been there.
NHRC had issued notice to Bihar government over Bihar hooch tragedy and seeks report within 4 weeks: Report
According to News Agency ANI, on December 16, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) had issued notice to the Bihar government and Director General of Police (DGP) over the Bihar hooch tragedy in which 85 people have died so far and sought a report within four weeks. .
Jaimini Kumar Srivastava, Deputy Director, Media and Communication of NHRC said that NHRC wants to know how this happened despite a ban on liquor in the state and what action is being taken against negligent cops.
“Suo moto cognizance taken over Hooch tragedy notices issued to Chief Secretary & DGP of Bihar seeking a report within four weeks, NHRC wants to know how this happened despite a ban on liquor in state and what action is being taken against negligent cops,” Srivastava added.
The NHRC has taken suo motu cognizance of media reports that several people have died after allegedly consuming spurious liquor in the Saran district of Bihar.
