PATNA: Candidates who have passed the CTET, BTET examination, who are protesting at the busiest intersection of Bihar’s capital Patna, ‘Dak Bungalow chowk’, have been lathicharged once again. CTET candidates have been protesting for the last several months demanding release and reinstatement.
According to the report, Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) and Bihar Teacher Eligibility Test (BTET) qualified candidates staged a protest on Monday demanding permanent jobs, in Patna.
The winter session of the Bihar Legislature has started from today (Tuesday) and the CTET pass teacher candidates had given a call to gherao the assembly.
Today, when the CTET candidates proceeded from Gandhi Maidan towards Dak Bungalow Square, they were stopped at Dak Bungalow Square itself. For many hours, the situation of jam remained at Dak Bungalow intersection.
Security personnel used water canons and resorted to lathicharge to disperse Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) and Bihar Teacher Eligibility Test (BTET) qualified candidates during their protest to demand permanent jobs.
About three months back also there was lathicharge on the teacher candidates. Then Patna’s ADM Law and Order K Singh was even suspended for lathi-charging a CTET candidate carrying a tricolor.
