Bihar Cabinet led by CM gives nod to govt staff, DA hike by 15 % as per 5th pay commission scales; watch video

PATNA: In a historic aimed at well-being of the government employees, the Bihar Cabinet led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday has raised the Dearness Allowance (DA) for the employees of the state government by 15 percent effective from July 1.

A cabinet meeting was held in Patna on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister.

Divulging the details, Additional Chief Secretary of the Cabinet Secretariat Department S Siddharth said, due to the raise 15 percent salary of the employees, now according to the fifth pay scale, the employees and pensioners of the state government will get 396 percent allowance instead of 381 percent.

Rs 25 crore approved for prohibition

Along with this, the cabinet has approved the appointment of 104 posts for the headquarter of Patna in the Mines and Geology Department. Apart from this, 50 new posts will also be created in engineering and polytechnic colleges. Apart from this, the state government has released an advance of 25 crores from the Bihar State Contingency Fund for the Central Prohibition Products and Registration Department. Which will be spent for the prohibition campaign.

Dearness allowance increased by 15 percent

According to the new decision of the cabinet, this increased allowance will be implemented with effect from July 1, 2022, for state government employees, pensioners, family pensioners, who are now receiving salary pension. Like the 5th central pay scale, the state government employees and pensioners receiving salary and pension under the sixth central pay scale will also get 212% dearness allowance instead of 203% with effect from July 1, 2022. The increased salary allowance has been approved by the Nitish cabinet today.

A total of 12 agendas were stamped in this. Along with this, it was also decided in the meeting to take out the restoration in many departments.
