The state government had imposed a complete ban on the sale and consumption of alcohol in Bihar in 2016, but illegal alcohol trafficking remains a significant challenge. The recent seizure of such a large quantity of foreign liquor highlights the ongoing problem of illegal alcohol trafficking in the state.
The incident underscores the need for stricter enforcement of prohibition laws in Bihar. Despite the efforts of the state government and the police, smugglers and bootleggers continue to operate in the state, putting the health and safety of residents at risk.
The ALTF’s recent operation is a positive step towards curbing the illegal liquor trade in Bihar, but more sustained efforts and effective enforcement measures are needed to completely eradicate the problem.
The question remains: what can be done to prevent the illegal trafficking of alcohol in Bihar and ensure the safety of its residents?
