PATNA: After Covid-19 pandemic, Bihar Education Department on Friday clarified that minimum 75 percent attendance has mandatory again for students of class 1 to XII to take advantage of all the schemes including cycle, uniform, and scholarship provide by the Bihar Education Department. It has been made effective again from the current academic session 2022-23 itself, Deepak Kumar Singh, Additional Chief Secretary, Education Department reported.
He said that instructions have been given to all district education officers. Explain that due to the closure of the school during the Cocid-19 period, the Bihar government had given relaxation in the rules of attendance. This scale was overlooked in delivering the benefits of schemes two-three years after getting approval from the apex level. This year, only those students will be able to get the amount of government schemes, who would have been present in the class for at least 75 percent of the days.

While, the department has made a standard operating procedure for data entry of all students enrolled in government schools from class I to XII and verification of 75% attendance. A software named MedhaSoft is developed by NIC for this. The details of all the nominees are to be uploaded on it.
Manoj Kumar, Special Secretary of Education Department cum Nodal Officer of DBT Koshang has instructed the districts to enter the data of the students of the current academic session on the MedhaSoft portal. School heads will complete the entry of their students on this by 30 September. By October 5, ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ will have to be entered for 75 percent attendance of all the students recorded on this portal. Preliminary Schools will send a printout of this to the BEO while High School and +2 will send to the DEO. Both the level officers will verify them. These will be finally verified by October 15.
