SRINAGAR: Rahul Gandhi is having his moment. Not in the sun, but in the snow. As the Bharat Jodo Yatra, which he led across a dozen states and two Union territories, came to a close with a rally in Jammu and Kashmir’s Srinagar, Rahul Gandhi addressed a gathering amid heavy snowfall on Monday.

Addressing at the conclusion of Bharat Jodo Yatra amid heavy snowfall in Kashmir, Rahul Gandhi said, “I have always lived in a government house, for me this structure is not home, for me the way of life is home, what you call Kashmiriyat.” I consider it my home.

A time also came when I felt that I would not be able to walk – Rahul Gandhi

It is snowing heavily in Kashmir at this time. Addressing the public in the midst of this snowfall, Rahul Gandhi said, “You don’t feel hot in summer and you don’t feel cold in winter, this is the power of the country. When Priyanka mentioned my message, my eyes filled with tears, usually this does not happen. During this journey, I also felt that I will not be able to find out or not, but I was able to. There came a time when I felt that I would not be able to walk. At that time a girl came running and said – I have written something for you, don’t read now, read later. He wrote that you have pain in your knee, when you put weight on it, it hurts more. I can’t walk with you because my parents won’t let me walk, but I know you’re walking for me and my pain just disappeared after reading this.”

“I found little kids who were begging, they didn’t have clothes I hugged them, they were shivering with cold, maybe they didn’t even get food. So I thought if they weren’t wearing sweaters then I shouldn’t either should. “

“When I was walking, many women were crying with me, but among them there were many women who were raped and harassed. If I had asked her to tell the police, she would have said no, I just wanted to tell you, if you tell the police, a lot of damage will be done. ,

The rally was attended by representatives from opposition parties DMK, NC, PDP, CPI, RSP and IUML. BSP MP Shyam Singh Yadav also attended the concluding event in his personal capacity.

PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti, who was part of the Congress rally, said the whole country was seeing a ray of hope in Rahul Gandhi.

“Rahul, you said you’ve come to Kashmir your home. It’s your home. I hope what the Godse ideology snatched from J-K, from this nation will be restored. Gandhiji said he saw a ray of hope in J-K. Today, the nation can see a ray of hope in Rahul Gandhi,” Mufti said.
