Amit Shah’s jibe at opposition meet in Patna, says-PM Modi will secure Govt again in 2024, Opponents lack unity

PATNA: Union Home Minister Amit Shah predicts Prime Minister Narendra Modi will form the government in 2024 with over 300 seats, securing another term as the Prime Minister. Speaking at a public meeting in Jammu, Shah emphasized the inability of opposition parties to unite despite their ongoing efforts.

Addressing the gathering, Shah commented on the ongoing meeting of opposition leaders in Patna, stating, “Today a photo session is underway in Patna. They (the opposition) want to challenge Prime Minister Narendra Modi and NDA. I want to tell them that PM Modi will form his government in the 2024 Lok Sabha Polls with more than 300 seats.” Shah arrived in Jammu for a two-day visit, where he was received by Lt Governor Manoj Sinha and Union Minister Jitendra Singh at the airport.

The meeting of opposition leaders, hosted by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in Patna, aimed to forge a united front against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha polls. Over 15 opposition parties participated in the meeting, held at Nitish Kumar’s official residence.

Taking a moment to remember the contributions of Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee on his death anniversary, Shah acknowledged his role in keeping Bengal as part of India. Dr. Mookerjee, who served as a minister in Jawaharlal Nehru’s cabinet, opposed Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir and famously stated, “Ek desh mein do Vidhan, do Pradhan aur do Nishan nahi chalega” (One nation cannot have two constitutions, two prime ministers, and two flags).

Highlighting the accomplishments of the Modi government, Shah praised the governance and development initiatives in Kashmir. He mentioned that every citizen in Jammu and Kashmir is provided with free health insurance of ₹5 lakh and emphasized the progress being made under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi.

During his visit, Amit Shah inaugurated various projects and laid the foundation stone for the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) in Samba. He also handed over the Golden Health card to beneficiaries, further emphasizing the government’s commitment to welfare and healthcare.
