‘Allah has given me a new life’, says Imran Khan after deadly attack on both his legs, Pakistan PM postpones press conference

ISLAMABAD: Former Prime Minister Imran Khan is said to have survived an assassination attempt during his rally in Wazirabad on Thursday.

The PTI chief and several other people sustained injuries after someone opened fire during a rally in Wazirabad. It is being told that bullets have been fired in both former PM Imran Khan legs.

Imran was taken to Shaukat Khanum Hospital in Lahore. A four-member team has been formed in the hospital. Dr Faisal will be the chief of the team. According to reports, apart from Imran Khan, Faisal Javed, Ahmed Chatta and Chaudhary Yusuf were injured in the firing.

One person has reportedly died in the firing and a total of six people have been injured. The firing incident was carried out during Imran Khan’s Azadi March. It is being told that two attackers carried out the firing, out of which one is reported to have been killed. It is suspected that the police opened fire. However, the attacker has been arrested.

According to sources, the unidentified assailant opened fire when Imran Khan approached the container. As the firing began, Imran Khan’s security personnel swiftly secured the container and reportedly nabbed the attacker. Imran Khan was immediately taken to the hospital after the incident. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party has said that Imran Khan is safe.

It is being told that some Imran supporters were on top of the container, they got shot. Faisal Javed, the governor of Punjab province and an aide of Imran Khan, has been shot. Sky News said there was an attempt to assassinate the former prime minister of Pakistan. The Pakistan-Tehreek-e-Insaf party said, “This is not Imran, it is an attack on Pakistan.” According to Geo News, Imran Khan’s right leg was seen bandaged when the firing took place in Gujranwala. There is a possibility of a huge uproar in Pakistan after the attack on Imran.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party said about the incident, “Imran Khan is our red line. Today an attempt has been made to cross that red line. You don’t know Imran Khan yet. He will fight till his last breath and his community will also fight till his last breath. This march will continue in any case. The fight for real freedom will continue.

Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has condemned the firing on Imran Khan’s container.

He has directed Home Minister Rana Sanaullah to seek immediate report from IG Police and Chief Secretary of Punjab.
